Harvest…The soybean fields are bright yellow…the corn is turning into khaki sentinels. Birds and bears are gorging on the late-maturing elderberries. Combines criss-cross the fields gathering in the bounty. Silos and barns are bulging. We are reminded that the Lord has promised a season of harvest…a time when all of the good grain will be gathered into the Master’s barn and all of the chaff will be burned…a time when the sheep will be separated from the goats, but also a time when our personal chaff will fall away and all that will be left is a heart to glorify God.
